Shortlisted for the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Awards for Excellence, the $2.8 billion Melbourne Square is a landmark taking up residence in Southbank. There are currently two residential towers made up of 1,054 apartments and penthouses, plus a supermarket, retail and childcare facilities. A lush 3700m² park is just part of the 6000m² of public space here. Residents also enjoy shared rooftop gardens, a lounge on Level 54, private dining, the exclusive Skye Club, a 25 metre indoor pool, gym and spa. Developed by Golden Age and designed by Bates Smart, Collins House is set atop the heritage façade of the Maker’s Mark building. It has attracted such acclaim as the Public Choice Award at the the 2020 Architizer A+ Awards and the Construction Award of Excellence at the 2021 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Construction Awards.
